The management team consist of the following:
Gigie Button – President – Principal Consultant
As the Principal Consultant of procureIT, Gigie Button has over 30 years of procurement experience. She has expertise in the procurement process from “cradle to grave”. Starting with specification or statement of work development, designing evaluation criteria for complex IT procurement, RFP development, strategic sourcing, negotiating terms and conditions, to performing as a functional lead and providing SME services, such as; policy and procedure redesign, staff training, process optimization, contract negotiation, administration, contract close out, and inventory control management. This includes managing large scale contracts that consistently deliver within time and budget constraints. Gigie leverages technology innovations to do more with less in today’s fast paced, demanding environment.
For several years, Gigie provided seminars for the Virginia Association of Governmental Purchasing (VAGP) specializing in IT Procurement.
Her experience in public procurement encompasses over 13 years at the City of Chesapeake in Virginia and 11 years with federal government contractors. Gigie also has extensive private sector procurement expertise. She is also adept in administering public and private sector contracts. For over three decades, Gigie has acquired an integrated contract law standards of excellence, sikishub.com assimilating the City of Chesapeake’s procurement statute, the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA) as well as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Gigie is recognized by the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC) as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB).
She also achieved accreditation as a Certified Purchasing Manager from Old Dominion University.
The City Manager’s Award recognition acknowledged Gigie’s role as the City of Chesapeake’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for procuring and implementing Peoplesoft’s Enterprise Planning system (ERP). This vast experience included the procurement of various other enterprise applications and system implementation services. Computer literacy embodied becoming conversant to teach others how to leverage PeopleSoft’s e-Pro and Purchasing modules as a SME to maximize the City’s Return of Investment (ROI)
Demonstrating a proclivity to innovate, Gigie is a published author for Government Procurement Magazine and pioneered e-procurement at the City of Chesapeake, the first locality in the Commonwealth of Virginia to use e-commerce for its industrial, technology and office supply requirements. Serving as a functional lead to the City’s technical staff, Gigie negotiated & implemented a multi-million dollar contract with Dell Computer Corporation that reduced costs by 25- 35% and desktop computer delivery time by 75%. Her direct contributions led to the development of an innovative web based ordering system that resulted in cost savings of $450,000 per year. This project required developing new training materials mandating new policies essential to realizing contract compliance required by three e-procurement systems. The article also highlighted the benefits of negotiating an employee purchase program for computers, related commodities and services. Upon implementation, Gigie served as Contract Administrator for Computer Hardware/Software (Dell), Furniture and Office Supplies (Office Depot) and Industrial Supplies (Grainger).
